Few jobs bring more satisfaction than serving others in ministries that bring glory to God. Words of advice from experienced leaders can empower those who are just getting started in those ministries.

For my husband and me, the longer we served overseas, the more we enjoyed our work. Nothing compares to doing life in another culture. Yet, we could not have made it without the guidance of those who had already been serving there.

Organizing, Part 1: A Strategy for Servant Leadership

Do you ever go to start a project and find yourself cleaning your house instead? It’s amazing how many things can keep me from doing the creative things I really love. It usually starts because I’m missing one thing I need to get moving on my project, and in the process of finding that thing, I end up trying to organize the junk drawer or using granite cleaner to scrub the island in my kitchen. Have you been there?

Doing Work We Love

Almost two years ago, I came to work at Christian Women’s Leadership Center with a challenge to help create nine courses which would become part of our Leadership Certificate Program. I benefitted from the groundwork of a team of people who did the difficult work of researching and selecting the appropriate topics before I arrived. They did much of the hard work, and I reaped an opportunity to implement the plan.
