For my husband and me, the longer we served overseas, the more we enjoyed our work. Nothing compares to doing life in another culture. Yet, we could not have made it without the guidance of those who had already been serving there.

A Sense of Call to Leadership: When Knowing His Voice Matters

Being in a relationship indicates communication between two people. Imagine going to Facebook and changing your status to say that you are “in a relationship” when only one party agrees to those terms. You might expect some taunting or teasing for such a public declaration.

In a growing relationship with Christ, we should expect two-way communication. The Bible compares a relationship with Christ to the way a bride relates to a groom. Following Christ is a serious matter and indicates that both parties be involved intimately. Those in relationships know one another well.

Great leaders throughout history faced phobias, and so might we when God directs us to lead.

Winston Churchill faced his fear of public speaking after he froze for three minutes giving a public speech when he was 29 years old. After facing that fear, he was later able to deliver speeches to inspire and lead his nation through a difficult and long victory during World War II.
